Chocolate Caramel Swirl Bars

Ok, so I will say I kind of just winged this recipe and didn't write down every single measurement so be creative and just add each ingredient as you see fit. You just need a food processor and a small pan to melt your coconut oil. Also, my next post was going to be about running but that will be my next post after this. I'm putting the running article on Linkedin first so search for Nicole D'Angelo if Linkedin is your thing. Onto this recipe!

Chocolate Walnut Fudge Bars

Yeah...so can you tell I'm back to chocolate and peanut butter recipes now? That was a quick break! Oh yeah and you have to make the adzuki bean recipe that is before this one. It's a way different recipe than what I've been posting but it's a hearty, healthy dinner and a great meal to make in bulk and freeze. But now for dessert....the batter for these is already fudge in your food processor so after I freeze them I expect them to be rich and chewy. I just popped 4 bars in the freezer and sat down to quickly get the recipe down here.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Filled Oat Bars

I bought these new Clif bars that are almond butter filled. They are, of course, yummy and then I just decided to make my own. I usually eat Clif bars before a run so after I made my own, that is exactly what I had before I ran today. I didn't end up running as long as I wanted because the Citibikes were calling me but I did get a great workout in this morning.

Dark Chocolate Protein Bites

I think it's pretty obvious that I love chocolate bites. They are wonderful when you want to make something sweet and you don't have alot of time and you want something that will render leftovers. I was home over the weekend and I brought back some food including raisins. I can't say I tend to snack on raisins so I used them for this recipe. Also, I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT PROTEIN POWDER! I came home to a brand new container and I'm pretty psyched.

Twix bars

These look like twix bars but I haven't perfected the crunch so they are more like chewy twix bars. They aren't too sweet and they are made with amazing healthy like coconut and peanut butter. Totally amazing, perfect for dessert or breakfast, I know you will love these as much as I do!

Chocolate Caramel Cookie Cups

Today is the WORST picture day. Whenever I make a recipe in the evening, I wait until the next day to photograph it so that the sun is shining that beautiful natural light. Well, today is dark and rainy so thank goodness for a bright apartment light and Instagram filters! I made another epic no bake dessert and I'm pretty excited to share it

Chocolate Chip Protein Bites

I made these over the last two days and I've been eating, what I think, is way too much of them. However, I got on the scale this morning and I lost another half a pound. But yeah, you can't eat these with abandon, you need to reign yourself in. These snacks are awesome but they do contain a decent amount of peanut butter and chocolate chips. They are still healthy though and mucho tasty AND very easy to make so you must make these at least once.

Rich, Decadent Chocolate Cake

I saw this cake on Bosh on Fb and I was sold. The video is quick and doesn't show everything so you need to make this in order to see that you must double the cake recipe in order to get a thick cake. They also don't say on the video how long to bake it but I just guessed and it worked out. I made this cake for a family dinner and everyone liked it. The icing is super rich and chocolatey and my mom thought it tasted like coffee. I really liked how this turned out.

Chocolate Caramels

These turned out....almost perfect. I made them lower in calories and fat so when they froze, they froze almost too much. I will include modifications so that you can make these another way. But as far as a tasty, healthy, chocolatey treat goes, keep reading, you absolutely won't be disappointed. These caramels require very little ingredients and minimal prep time.

Coconut Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

I have not made a raw dessert in ages...actually a no bake dessert because technically the ingredients for this recipe are not all raw. Since I ditched the dates and started watching how many calories I eat, raw desserts aren't worth it and it's difficult to assess how many calories are in each serving. But last night I didn't care, I just whipped these up and honestly, didn't fully keep track of the measurements I used. So, as you follow this recipe, feel free to add or delete a little here and there based on your own kitchen expertise.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Ice Cream

My peanut butter craze reached an all new high the other day and it got so bad I swore off of it for 3 whole days. I can eat peanut butter several times a day everyday, if I let myself, which I did this past week. It's so damn good; I mostly prefer the Whole Foods 365 brand, there is just nothing quite like it. Maybe I should stop buying that brand and go with one I don't prefer so I won't go reaching for peanut butter every chance I get. Why it is so addicting?!

Mini Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

This picture and recipe was an Instagram hit so I'm blogging it for those who aren't into social media.I made these last night because I wanted a sweet but I don't have a ton of ingredients in my apt due to needing to hit the store. I ate so many of these today but it's ok because life is too short to feel guilty about what we eat. The ingredients are wholesome and I went for a run afterwards 😏

Homemade Cashew Milk (Chocolate and Plain)

As I was writing this title, I realized that I could have made the plain milk a vanilla milk but I will say adding pure vanilla extract to milk really turns me off. I added it once to oat milk and it was just terrible. I think vanilla is best added to baked goods or even oatmeal but less is definitely more-and it's not something to add to milk. But that's just my opinion. I made this milk because I ran out of store bought and I'm a coffee freak lately. I had no desire to hit the store today so I decided to make use of the big bag of cashews in my cupboard and make homemade milk. I didn't sweeten the plain milk but I did sweeten the chocolate milk and I'm going to keep it in the fridge for when I want a sweet treat!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Coffee Fudge

So I switched my blog to WordPress and HATED it. WordPress is cool, don't get me wrong, I use it for my yoga studio website but for this blog's purpose, I'm cool with Blogger. I blogged this fudge recipe last week but I improved it and made it coffee flavored so I'm updating this with the coffee version. Using Blogger. I feel like I'm home again 😄

Three Ingredient Fudgy Brownies

These brownies did not come out of my brain as they are not my recipe. I found the recipe on instagram under @lilsipper. Her account is so so cool; she makes very cool, delicious looking food, mostly desserts, using very interesting ingredients and ingredients you would not think to use. For instance, this recipe is just fruit and cocoa powder and it makes the most delicious brownies. So, if you are on instagram or Facebook, follow @lilsipper. Her Facebook is @lmLilSipper.

Sweet Potato Brownies

I'm so sorry I have not updated this blog in a minute, I have been so busy getting back into the swing of life since coming back to the city after New Years. I'm pretty much kicking alot of butt-I have my mailing list up and running, I sent out my second newsletter this week and I added a mailing list popup link to my website. I ran my first New York Road Runner race on Saturday (a 10K) in the snow and freezing cold and I got through my first week of eating clean and I'm down two pounds. Want to join me? Sign up for my Intro to Plant-Based Eating Fb group! We begin Monday January 16th but the grocery list goes out this Friday!

10 Healthy Chocolate Recipes

I never do mashups, which I want to do more of, because I have so many recipes that I feel I need to organize them better. What better way to do that than combining a few recipes into one blog post so you can see them more easily?! I picked 10 chocolate recipes because 1. chocolate is the bomb and 2. the holidays are here and everyone loves a chocolate dessert. These recipes are mostly clean, way healthier than processed, store-bought recipes and easy to make.

Creamy Chocolate Coffee Elixir with Healing Spices

Today I went out early to Whole Foods to get coconut milk so I could make this delicious coffee drink. It was a cold, brisk awesome walk and WF was empty. Now I'm home and in the midst of drinking this beverage and I feel hugged, warm and comforted. I plan on taking these good vibes and doing some fiction writing after I write this blog post. This drink is full of healing, warming spices and a low low glycemic sweetener (yep, brown rice syrup). I know you will love this drink!

Date Sweetened Creamy Hot Chocolate

When I think of a comfort drink, I think of a homemade coffee smoothie or a hot chocolate. Now that it's cold pretty consistently, I've been craving hot drinks lately. I'm still doing a sugar detox because I really went wild the past few months so this hot chocolate is only sweetened with dates, nothing else. Honestly, I haven't thought much about sugar and I feel wonderful. Dates can sweeten pretty much anything and they are more than enough to make your recipes taste great without throwing yourself into a food coma.

Creamy Pumpkin Spice Latte

I visited my family over the weekend and I made this for myself and it was the bomb. You don't need pumpkin for this recipe if you don't happen to have it so just pull out the cinnamon and nutmeg. This is a very warming, wakeful drink as it contains spices and coffee. My current fascination is the cold brew coffee from Trader Joe's. You find it in the coffee aisle but once you open it, you store it in the fridge. This recipe is a hot latte recipe as it's autumn and crisp and beautiful outside; warm drinks are an absolute necessity right now.
