Creamy Chocolate Coffee Elixir with Healing Spices

Today I went out early to Whole Foods to get coconut milk so I could make this delicious coffee drink. It was a cold, brisk awesome walk and WF was empty. Now I'm home and in the midst of drinking this beverage and I feel hugged, warm and comforted. I plan on taking these good vibes and doing some fiction writing after I write this blog post. This drink is full of healing, warming spices and a low low glycemic sweetener (yep, brown rice syrup). I know you will love this drink!

My cousin is coming to visit this weekend so I have a few fun, NYC touristy days ahead of me along with a cool art run and a strength training workout planned, a trip to the farmers market and lots of Christmasy NYC stuff to do. I feel so lucky and grateful to be living in this expensive, crazy, dazzling city and I try not to take it for granted.

I made this drink because I wanted to combine coffee, chocolate and my favorite spices in one drink along with some creamy, super awesome coconut milk. Omg, you guys this drink did not disappoint, I can't tell you how awesome it is so I will just let you figure that out yourself. I can't think of anything else to write about right here. I think my brain just wants me to write some fiction. Yes, so it's out there now, I'm writing a fiction novel...and it's so difficult. Writing anything beyond wellness blog posts is difficult. I have all of these beautiful details in my head but struggle to get them on paper. So, let me give you this recipe and get on to the fiction writing!

8 oz of coffee
1 cup of light canned coconut milk
1 tbsp of cacao or cocoa powder
1 tsp of turmeric
1 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of ginger
3 tbsp of brown rice syrup
2 tbsp of coconut cream (optional)

Pour the coffee and milk into a small pan and heat slowly. Add the powders and mix very well. Add the brown rice syrup and mix until blended. You can add some coconut cream now or top your drink with it. Mix everything until fully blended and add anymore sweetener if needed. Pour into your favorite mug; the drink will make about 24 ounces.
