Vanilla Pumpkin Chia Seed Pudding

Pumpkin is so delicious. It's especially delicious in this recipe. You can taste the vanilla flavor but I love the pumpkin flavor bursting through. I had this for breakfast today and it was a super simple recipe.

Chocolate Chip Brownie Bites

When I crave sweets, I look for ways to minimize my sugar consumption while also getting that sweet fix. I recently discovered monk fruit sugar so my coffee and sweets have never been the same. It's a great substitute for regular sugar but it has no impact on your blood sugar and has no carbs. I didn't use monk fruit sugar for this recipe, though, so go out and get it because my next recipe will have it.

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Hemp Cookies

I don't really make a ton of desserts anymore since watching how much carbs I'm consuming but I have relaxed a little bit with it and just make sure I don't consume added sugar. I wanted to make a low carb cookie though for something to snack on as I'm usually running around all day. I try to bring a protein bar or some kind of snack to give me energy and keep my stomach from growling. These turned out delicious and they are no bake!

Peanut Butter Flax Protein Bites

Here is a quick snack for you and something I've probably made and posted a hundred times before this. These bites are made with protein powder that is sweetened with stevia so these are pretty much sugar-free, full of fiber and healthy fat. But before I go ahead with the recipe, I wanted to say that my Munch and Meditate Supperclub tickets are on sale for April 28th. Come and meet me as I lead you in a guided meditation that focuses on grounding and renewal (springtime!) and then serve you a complimentary welcome drink of prosecco and a 3 course meal. Want in? Buy tickets at Foreverplantbased.eventbrite.com ! Now for this wonderful snack recipe....

Chocolate Oat Krispy Bars

Sometimes the best recipes come about when you mess up another one. These were no exception. I'm writing this a week and a half after I made these so I forget what original recipe I was trying to make but these happened and they are pretty awesome. I made these with and without chocolate but I think the chocolate wins so I'm writing out the chocolate recipe. I was aways so-so with rice krispy treats when I wasn't vegan; I didn't seek them out but they were good when I ate them. So here is a vegan version without marshmallows or butter.

Chocolate Chia Energy Bites

I made these bites for an art run that was being led by my friend Marnie who is the founder of Runstreet. She brings people together and leads them in a relaxing run around NYC while the group looks at street art. She asked me to make these treats for her Christmas art run and I was so happy to do it. I whipped these treats up when I messed up making another recipe. These turned out so great. I'll be making these treats again when I team up with Marnie for a New Years Day art run and yoga class so if you are in NYC on Jan 1st, join us !

Dark Chocolate Protein Bites

I think it's pretty obvious that I love chocolate bites. They are wonderful when you want to make something sweet and you don't have alot of time and you want something that will render leftovers. I was home over the weekend and I brought back some food including raisins. I can't say I tend to snack on raisins so I used them for this recipe. Also, I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT PROTEIN POWDER! I came home to a brand new container and I'm pretty psyched.

Vanilla Protein Milkshake

It's super warm today but I must say it's not as bad as I imagined. My apartment is not really that warm and I haven't needed anything beyond a fan all day while I was typing, emailing, updating websites and writing newsletters. But I think tomorrow is supposed to be 90 in NYC so I figured I would bust out an ice cream recipe.

Sweet Peanut Butter Oat Protein Bars

When I don't have dates to make protein/energy bars with, I pretty much write off the recipe. Dates are super binding and pull together an energy bar, keeping it together and allowing it to be at room temperature without falling apart. Today I made energy bars without dates and they turned out fabulous. I'm so psyched that they are delicious and stay intact. Granted, I had them in the fridge for a while so they will need to be kept in the fridge but they are nonetheless AMAZING!

Mixed Seed Protein Bars

I set up a delivery of Graze snacks, has anyone heard of Graze.com ? You set up a payment and a schedule and they deliver delicious snacks right to your door. You can specify what kind of snacks you want based on your dietary needs It's cool. Anyway, I ate one of their protein flapjacks and it was so delish I made a similar one. I love protein bars-their chewiness, the energy they give, the sweetness and filling feeling you get after enjoying one. They are so easy to make at home that it doesn't make sense to buy them.

Dark Chocolate Protein Bites

I am 20 days away from completing my first marathon and my plan for the next few weeks is to eat clean and try to stay within a moderate calorie range. I probably won't lose weight but I want to at least try. I downloaded My Fitness Pal and I have tracked my food for 13 days straight now. It's going well and I made a ton of food yesterday. Whenever I'm good though, as in, sticking to healthy meals and portion control, I always want a raw dessert. Last week I was obsessed with these and now I just made these bites. These are GOOOOOOD!

Livwell Raw Plant Protein Nutrition

I'm not one for buying protein powder; I've tried a few over the years but I didn't buy them on the regular. They are expensive and usually very highly processed. I also have a huge sweet tooth so I tend to overdo foods like protein powder because it's sweet. I do think they are a pretty good addition to one's diet as long as you get a good brand that is made with whole foods and organic, fair-trade ingredients. That's where Livwell comes in. The above photo was taken from their website; I'd like to take credit for that delicious looking smoothie but I cannot!

Raw Pea Protein Chocolate Smoothie

Pea protein is the new ingredient that is added to protein powder and smoothies, I'm just realizing. Am I late to the game? I feel like I always overlook peas as being boring or something I used to be made to eat as a kid but they are actually pretty awesome. I bought frozen peas yesterday at Whole Foods so I could make a smoothie today and I wasn't disappointed. To make the sweetest smoothie with bananas, make sure you use super ripe, speckled bananas, as ripe as you can possibly buy. The riper the banana, the sweeter the ice cream.
