Yogurt with Oats and Fruit

*This is not a sponsored post*

I just love Forager Project cashew yogurt. I really need to break into the yogurt and cheese arena and just make my own. It would be cheaper and I can expand my skills in the kitchen but I haven't yet and end up buying yogurt and cheese. It's cool though because I get to try different brands, check out ingredients and get inspiration for my own recipes. I actually just ordered a vegan yogurt starter kit on Amazon so I'm going to try to make yogurt first.

I wrote this post a few years ago about kicking dairy to the curb once and for all with steps you can take to make it easier. I hope it helps you. This post kind of goes along with that previous post since I've been thinking about cheese lately and the amazing dairy-free cheeses that are out there. Even after being vegan for 6 years, I admit that cheese from cows is delicious. It just is...whether it be because it reminds me of my childhood or it has that morphine-like chemical in it that is addicting or because it's just good, I can still admit that cow's cheese is yummy. That's why veganism is a lifestyle and not a diet. If you don't have the inspiration, drive and motivation to be vegan for something other than taste or vanity reasons or weight loss, you won't stay vegan. If you do not wish to contribute to the cruel dairy/veal industry or don't wish to contribute to global warming, then you have something other than temporary reasons to be vegan and stay vegan.

You can pretty much replace all ingredients made from animals with a plant-based version. Take, for instance, this cashew milk yogurt that I talk about here. It's devoid of sweeteners, it's pretty plain tasting but it's just creamy and delicious and tasty. It has a subtle flavor of cashews but it's also smooth and creamy like dairy. When I eat it, I miss nothing about dairy yogurt. It satisfies my yogurt craving, makes for a nutritious breakfast and I'm happy and get to talk about it to others.

My breakfast was so easy this morning and looked like this:

1 cup of cashew milk yogurt
1/4 cup of rolled oats
1/2 sliced banana

That's it. I got the yogurt on sale at Whole Foods yesterday so I stocked up on two containers. Check out Whole Foods or your local health food store. You might be shocked at some of the prices but look for sales or just try something once. Think of what we spend on eating out or buying clothes; isn't it worth it to buy really delicious and nutritious yogurt?
