Who is ready to meditate for the next 25 days until Christmas Day? Who is ready to be blissed out this holiday season? I am. I want to appreciate all that this season has to offer and I want to appreciate everything I have. I want to savor every moment in the kitchen, every moment with family and friends and every present I wrap, every brisk walk in the cold that I take, every hug I give my neph-dog. I want to take care of myself and give myself QUIET for just a few minutes a day. Who doesn't need that??
Head over to my facebook page so you can join in the challenge and get meditation guides from me. Here's how you can begin: find a quiet, comfortable place where you can relax by yourself. Sit so that you can stay in that position for 5-10 minutes with minimal movement. Sit on the couch or on the floor backed up against the wall for support. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds. Do this four times and then just sit in quiet, breathing normally. Sit and focus on your breath, clearing your mind of any distractions. If your mind wanders, focus on your breathing. Let your mind take you where it needs to go and when you feel it is time, come out of meditation and slowly resume your day. If you need to time this, set your timer for 5-10 minutes.
We want good quality meditation, don't meditate when you're overly tired or in a rush. Set aside time and relax, breath and don't think.
Keep checking my facebook page for updates and of course I'll be getting back to the recipes on Wednesday. I'm back in NYC for 18 days and then I'll be home for Christmas. I can't believe how time is flying and it's already December! Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving?
How will you savor this holiday season? What makes you feel the most stressed out and how can you eliminate the stress or learn to cope with it in a healthy way? What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
