Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes

I'm really excited about this recipe, adapted from Debbie Adler's new cookbook, Sweet, Savory & Free . I have not had any inspiration to cook or blog or photograph lately. I'm so busy with my yoga studio and trying to write a novel and have a social life and meet new people that I have not contributed to this blog in a regular way in a while. I feel bad but I have so many recipes on this blog that it's difficult to get bored. But I will get back to cooking, it just may take a little bit.

Livwell Raw Plant Protein Nutrition

I'm not one for buying protein powder; I've tried a few over the years but I didn't buy them on the regular. They are expensive and usually very highly processed. I also have a huge sweet tooth so I tend to overdo foods like protein powder because it's sweet. I do think they are a pretty good addition to one's diet as long as you get a good brand that is made with whole foods and organic, fair-trade ingredients. That's where Livwell comes in. The above photo was taken from their website; I'd like to take credit for that delicious looking smoothie but I cannot!

Coconut Caramel Bites

I adapted this recipe from one of my favorite bloggers, Emily of This Rawesome Vegan Life . Her blog is mostly raw desserts but she also has lightly cooked recipes and a few bestselling cookbooks. She's my blog inspiration, I always look to her blog and social media for advice and she is super honest and engaging in her blog posts. I can't wait to share this recipe because it's too good not to and I'm just OBSESSED with it!

Spotlight on Fitness: Runstreet Founder, Marnie Kunz

New York City is an amazing city to live in when you are a runner. The number of places you can run and the amazing views you see when you run are innumerable. This city is amazing. When I moved here two years ago I quickly tried to find my running tribe. I typically like to run by myself but at times I love running with a group. I first met Marnie when my yoga studio hosted one of her art runs. I ran with her group, met people, had a great workout and most of all, HAD SO MUCH FUN! Marnie took us through the streets of the city, showed us street art, we took fun pics and we ran back to my studio.

Spotlight on Giving: Chilis on Wheels founder, Michelle Carrera

Chilis on Wheels, an organization that works to spread veganism and feed the hungry of NYC. What better way is there to spread love? I first met Michelle through a friend at a vegan event. She is an amazing, sweet person and I soon learned of her organization Chilis on Wheels.

Spotlight on Fitness: SkinnyRedefined Blogger, Jordan McMullen

I first heard of Jordan and her blog via Instagram when she would post awesome, motivational pics. Her account was one of the fist Instagram accounts that I relied on when I first moved to NYC a year and a half ago. I signed up for a Juice Crawl in August and she was there also; needless to say I was so happy to meet her! She was so nice and we chatted about our blogs for a little bit before we silent clubbed around the city with headphones on and fabulous dance moves (it was a silent clubbing juice crawl haha). I was soon reading her blog and feeling relieved that someone else felt the same way about the fast paced life in this city. On her blog , Jordan mentions finding your skinny and I can completely relate; I compare myself everyday to other women on the street and worry so much about how I look, it's exhausting and a waste of time.

Yay it's Friday!  I'm going to spend the weekend savoring Christmas in New York City because it's going fast!  What have you done thus far to savor this holiday season?
