My Favorite Vegan Eats in New York City

One of the best things about moving to the Big Apple is experiencing all the vegan food the city has to offer.  I have tasted some delicious dishes over the past two months and I want to share with you the different places I've visited.  Not every restaurant I mention is vegan but I believe it is important to note all restaurants who are making an effort to have vegan options on their menu. When I came up with the idea to do this post, I met a fellow blogger who does Friday Features on her blog where she features her favorite vegan and gluten free restaurant in NYC.  I love connecting with fellow bloggers so we met up at a vegan restaurant in Brooklyn and talked about a joint post.  We talked all about our blogs, Instagram, connecting with followers, our vegan and gluten free meals and more.  We ate super healthy meals at Bliss on Grand St in Brooklyn then went to a vegan and GF bakery a few doors down from the restaurant.  We also stopped in Whisk, a vegan food bloggers heaven

The Seed: Positively Plant Based

At the last minute, I attended The Seed event on Saturday August 9th and I had no idea how inspiring it was going to be!  There were vegan businesses everywhere, plenty of vegan food, there were inspirational speakers, demonstrations, and many products to buy and sample, I had so much fun.  I also met a fellow Instragrammer who I connected with since moving to this awesome city (Hi Annie!).  I actually attended this event because I saw Annie was going.  What a wonderful day and I can't wait to share the details with you.

NYC, Factory Farming and Yoga

Well, I'm officially living in New York City!  I've been dreaming about making this move for such a long time and it's finally a reality.  I left my job in PA and now I want to do life coaching, teach yoga and help people live happier, healthier lives.  I have a link to my health coach page on my vegan recipe website so check out www.fabulousveganrecipes.com for info on me, my health coaching business, this blog and other fun stuff. My kitchen in NYC is SMALL!!  It's taking me a little while to get used to the size and the new layout but I plan on finishing the recipes for my next cookbook in this very kitchen.  Today, it's dreary in the city but I'm sitting in front of the window typing and thinking, so ready and excited for my new life.  After this, I need to be reading my books for yoga class and doing some more schoolwork (I think I mentioned I'm in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition health coaching program). Last week's module for

Happy Anniversary FVR Facebook page!

Happy Anniversary to this lovely blog and the Facebook page where I've met such wonderful people and received much inspiration! I can't wait to take FVR to New York City and into the future. This blog has helped me figure out what I want to do with my life and how I want to help people, through cooking, health coaching and yoga. I've never had so much fun writing and connecting with others! Over the past year, I started the FVR Facebook page, published an ebook of recipes, designed my website, started classes at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, started my Instagram page, signed a lease in NYC and connected with so many inspiring vegans. Look back on your year periodically and recognize how far you've come. My little kitchen in New York City is where I will be making a new start to my life and a new start to cooking more delicious recipes. There are so many possibilities in the kitchen and I want to continue passing these onto you. Thank you fo

The Benefits of a Vegan Diet

Happy Sunday!!  I watched a few videos this morning on factory farming and how they are ruining the earth and I got inspired to continue my blogging for the weekend.  The benefits of being vegan are so obvious to me that I don't understand sometimes how others can deny it.  But I wasn't always vegan so I try not to judge others' decision to continue eating meat.  I wanted to concentrate on the benefits of veganism in this post in case a few new vegans need some help.  New year, new you :)
